Merlot Schützner Stein® 2019 BIO
24,00 €
Quality wine; 0,75 Liter; contains sulfites
The foundation of this outstanding wine is a 225-metre-high, rocky hill southeast of Schützen. The peak of this hill is a nature preserve in which deforestation and agricultural cultivation are absolutely forbidden, including driving with a tractor.
Merlot, the great classic variety from Bordeaux, sacrifices none of its intensity or power in the alpine conditions of the Leitha Mountains. Its texture is softer and suppler than Blaufränkisch and its acidity milder.
The logical reply to these preconditions is 20-months maturation in small oak barrels, which enhances all the positive attributes of Merlot. The limestone of the Schützner Stein and the cool winds that stir its vines firmly frame juicy, inviting, ripe dark fruit, liquorice and chocolate notes, intense herbal spice, charming texture and ample body.
