Blaufränkisch Marienthal 2015 (Big Bottle) – sold out
0,75 liters; contains sulfites
You certainly know the story of Marienthal and its legendary Blaufränkisch. What you possibly don’t know, is that we have had Blaufränkisch vines in this vineyard for three decades, right there where the limestone base descends gently towards Oggau. My father had to replant our parcel in this vineyard and because you can’t truly express the potential of such a site with young vines, first my father and then my sister and I waited. We waited until 2011 to produce our single-vineyard Blaufränkisch Marienthal. It is crystal clear, with aromas reminiscent of sour cherry and pepper. Acidity, power, tannin and sweet fruit slowly merge to open the way into a long future. Complexity and perspicuity unite in the flavour of this wine.
